BARO TOOL PRACTICAL GUIDE

How to Calculate Ski Pass Value Recovered and Visits Remaining

After buying a season pass, it is useful to track value already recovered and visits still needed. Compare against the day-ticket price you could realistically buy, not the list price.

01

Recovered value and progress

Value per visit equals realistic day-ticket price minus any pass-holder fee per visit. Multiply by completed visits for recovered value.

Progress equals recovered value divided by pass price, multiplied by 100.

  • Recovered value = visits × (ticket value − pass visit fee)
  • Progress = recovered value ÷ pass price × 100
02

A 600 pass used six times

With a 70 realistic ticket and no visit fee, six visits recover 420, or 70% of a 600 pass.

Nine total visits are required, leaving three. Planned future visits also show projected season-end savings.

03

Choosing the ticket comparison

Use the online, card, or partner price actually available to you. A night skier should compare the equivalent night product.

Partner-resort and companion benefits can be recorded separately when actually used, but are not automatic in the core calculation.

04

Break-even is not everything

Priority access, discounts, and flexibility have non-financial value, while closure, injury, and weather create underuse risk.

Do not make unsafe visits only to justify a sunk pass cost.
