Distinguish rows from columns
Rows divide the image vertically; columns divide it horizontally. Use three rows and one column for three stacked pieces of a tall image.
Check the numbered tiles
Choose a format and select Split image. Numbering starts at the top left, moves right, and continues on the next row.
Save one tile or the set
Click a preview tile to download it, or save all tiles as a ZIP. Split again after changing the grid or format.

A worked example

Start with: Original: 600×600px · 2 rows × 2 columns · PNG
Check the result: Four 300×300px images are created. Tiles 1 and 2 are on top; 3 and 4 are below.

Download the set as a ZIP. Check the posting order required by your destination rather than assuming it matches the filenames.
